Select your virtual network adapter that is configured to work in the NAT mode, expand Advanced settings and hit the Port Forwarding button. I'm running VBox 6.1.14 on macOS Catalina (10.15.7), which is actually an OpenCore (0.6.1) hackintosh. I'd previously been successfully using three different VMs - Windows 10, Ubuntu LTS, and PopOS LTS, though it had been probably two weeks since I last used one. Now, suddenly, all three fail to boot. VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Oracle VirtualBox 6.1 Version Released with updated Linux Kernel 5.4 and many Bug fixes.

Oracle VM VirtualBox 6.1 Extension Pack supported all platforms. Lightcapture 1 0 2. It is support for USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices, VirtualBox RDP, disk encryption, NVMe and PXE boot for Intel cards.

Oracle VM VirtualBox is a free and open-source hosted hypervisor for x86 virtualization, developed by Oracle Corporation and it installed on Windows, macOS, Linux, Solaris and OpenSolaris.

The following major new features were added and fixes security Bugs:

  • Implemented support for importing a virtual machine from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Extended support for exporting a virtual machine to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, allowing the creation of multiple virtual machines without re-uploading. Also added option to export a VM to the cloud using the more efficient variant 'paravirtialized', and to specify free-form tags for cloud images
  • Virtualization core: Support for nested hardware-virtualization on Intel CPUs (starting with 5th generation Core i, codename Broadwell), so far tested only with guest running VirtualBox
  • Graphics: New style 3D support (with VBoxSVGA and VMSVGA) remains, old style 3D support (with VBoxVGA) has been completely removed
  • Shared Clipboard: Implemented experimental support for file transfers (Windows hosts/guests only at the moment). Needs to be enabled via VBoxManage (disabled by default).

  • Virtualization core: Drop recompiler, i.e. running VMs now needs a CPU supporting hardware virtualization
    Runtime: Works now on hosts with many CPUs (limit now 1024)
  • Appliance and Cloud Import: Add field for defining firmware type (not part of OVF spec and thus manual in the Appliance case, for OCI it is automatically taken from the instance information)
  • GUI: Improved the VISO creation and file manager dialogs
  • GUI: Virtual machine list of VirtualBox Manager was improved. Machine groups are now more obvious visually and VM search functionality has been improved. Global Tools element can now be pinned in place, to avoid scrolling it with rest of machine list

  • GUI: Internal medium enumeration routines were optimized to reduce the load and optimize the performance in cases when user have lots of media registered. Also, we again allowed to add existing media (and create new) via Virtual Media Manager
  • GUI: More consistent medium selection (both showing known images and allowing to select using the file picker)
  • GUI: VM storage settings page was adjusted a bit in usability regard. User is now allowed to change controller bus type and can move attachments between the controllers by using drag and drop
  • GUI: Storage and Network settings pages bug-fixes and usability optimization
  • GUI: Added a new soft (virtual) keyboard enabling arbitrary keyboard input to guests, including multimedia keys
  • GUI: Fixed crash in cloud related wizards when accessibility functionality was enabled

VirtualBox Editor's Review

VirtualBox is an impressive, open-source, desktop virtualization software. Available for Linux, OS X and Windows, VirtualBox allows you to run a different operating system on your machine, within a virtual environment. So for example, you could have Linux running on your Windows machine.

When you get something for free, you expect it to be lacking in some way, compared to commercial products which tend to have more features or more support. VirtualBox is surprising in that it is gives far more than you would expect, and is a real contender in the virtualization arena. Some of the VirtualBox features include the ability to move VMs between host systems dynamically, branched snapshots, and 32 way virtual SMP support.
Pro's: Feature rich app that runs on all the major operating systems. Installation is easy via a step-by-step wizard. Uses less resources than other virtualization apps. The ability to share folders between the host and guest machine.
Con's: Steeper learning curve than other virtualization apps. Weak printer support.
Conclusion: What started out as a small virtualization project for individual users, has developed into a competitor in the enterprise sector. It still has some issues to sort out to make it as intuitive as it´s competitors, but remains one of the most comprehensive free apps available. Enterprises may still prefer to go with a commercial solution, but VirtualBox is an excellent option for users who do not want to pay commercial fees.
